The library kicked off it's second annual "Love Your Library" week on February 8th. It featured a book fair and a raffle.

A showcase of book titles was also created to highlight student and faculty favorites.

Literary world loses J.D. Salinger

J.D. Salinger, author of "The Catcher in the Rye"(1951) has passed away at the age of 91.
Some of his other works were:
  • Nine Stories (1953) series
  • Franny and Zooey (1961)
  • Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymore: An Introduction (1963)

Twilight "New Moon" Mania!


The Twilight saga "New Moon" opened at theaters on November 20th. The movie which is based on Stephenie Meyer's best seller brought in a record breaking $72 million dollars on opening day.

And in case you have been in a cave lately, New Moon is the second installment of the "Twilight" series. From the book's cover: "For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. Roald Dahl's "Fantastic Mr. Fox" movie opens

The movie "Fantastic Mr. Fox" opened at theaters on November 25th. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, it a story about a father fox who must mend his formerly wild ways in order to take care of his family. But not before one last raid on three mean farmers.

The Book Fair at Gelinas


This year's school book fair was a great success. There were many great books, posters, games, and cool knick-knacks for sale.

In addition, we had several winners from the daily raffle drawing.
